Andrew Roberts is described by his clients and those that know him best as, “Compassionate, enthusiastic, self-aware, knowledgeable and caring,” — a combination of characteristics that allow him to provide the firm theoretical structure necessary in counseling and also the heart and soul of what makes a counselor endowed to really assist clients to make needed changes in their lives. His genuine concern, maintained objectivity while providing the safety and nurturance in the counseling environment allows clients to solve their own problems and come to the resolve to have lasting results. He uses a variety of interventions, but relies heavily on Cognitive Behavioral and Reality Therapy. His diverse work and life experiences—he ran the Intensive Outpatient Program at Snowden for substance abuse as well as working for a number of years as the owner and operator of a hunting and fishing guide service—puts him in a league of his own as far as having so much more to offer than book learning. Andrew holds a Master’s degree  from The College of William and Mary in Community & Addictions counseling. Andrew particularly enjoys working with adolescents and adults in their efforts to make positive changes in their lives.

Michelle Buhrandt, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker


Michelle holds a master's degree in Social Work from  George Mason University in the mental health field and is  continuing her education as a doctoral student in Social work at Virginia Commonwealth University.  She is qualified for all general counseling services with a specialty in treating children and adolescents.  

Kim Rudat

Resident in Counseling 

Kim  is a Resident in Counseling with an emphasis on marriage and family therapy. Kim specializes in premarital couple counseling, high conflict relationships, and separating and divorcing couples.  Her areas of focus are helping clients develop effective means of communication and breaking through behavioral impasses to move forward in interpersonal relationships.  Kim holds an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University. 


Debbie Toscano, LCSW

Debbie has over 25 years of diverse experiences in individual, family, and marital therapy. Debbie has worked with various groups of people, including children and adolescents, focusing mostly on utilizing solutions- focuses and cognitive behavioral therapy. She is passionate about educating and nurturing individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, stress, phobias and beyond. Debbie is a Reiki Master and is also bilingual Spanish/English

Shirley Louisor, LPC.

Licensed Professional Counselor 


Shirley has a long tenure with Riverside Counseling. She is a graduate of Regent University and currently, in addition to seeing adults, families, and couples, she enjoys play therapy with children and adolescents.  Shirley has been in the mental health field and with Riverside Counseling for many years. 

Dr. Andrea Cooper, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor


Dr. Cooper is an Air Force veteran with a defense industry analyst background. Her counseling experiences include mental health agency, university, and private practice work in NoVA, MD, and DC. She has graduate teaching experience and leadership roles in higher education. Her doctorate in Counseling, Education and Supervision was awarded by Argosy University/Sarasota. She works in collaborative counseling modalities to foster clients' self-awareness, resilience, and overall wellness.

Camille Couch, LPC

Camille Couch believes in many ways that the people she serves are among the healthiest people in the community. It takes courage and strength to take the steps necessary to improve their lives – one of the most challenging things a person will ever do. Everyone is limited in some way, as no one has a 360⁰ view of self and the world. The consequence is a limited vision, resulting in blockage from a fuller life. Camille has her counseling degree from Idaho State University. She has over 16 years of counseling experience and many more years as a corporate trainer. She is the change agent who helps assist her clients in seeing the bigger picture and finding fulfillment in their lives. She helps clients address the negative patterns and thoughts that leads to positive change. She provides counseling for a variety of issues for individuals, couples and families. She has been trained in a variety of modalities, including EMDR, LifeSpan Integration and EFT.
